This is collected in connection with website operation, security and hosting, and, where you use a website form, through the form verification tool used on this website.
05

5. Special category data and sensitive information

Some information is more sensitive under data protection law. This may include health information, medical history, family health history and, in limited cases, other special category data. We may need this information where protection or insurance advice is being considered, such as life cover, critical illness cover or income protection.

We will only collect and use special category data where it is necessary and lawful to do so. Where required, we will ask for your explicit consent before using it. If you do not provide information that is necessary for advice or product enquiries, we may be unable to provide the service requested.

06

6. How we collect personal data

We collect personal data mainly from you. This may happen during meetings, telephone calls, video calls, written forms, fact finds, email, secure document exchange, website forms and other communications.

We may also receive personal data from third parties where relevant and lawful. This may include product providers, pension providers, investment platforms, insurers, professional advisers, employers, identity verification providers, public registers and other organisations involved in providing or administering services to you.

Where electronic identity checks or similar checks are used, we will explain the purpose and basis for those checks where required.

Where we use a verification tool to protect our website forms from automated or spam submissions, that tool may process limited technical information in connection with that function. Further details are in Section 16.

07

7. The lawful bases we may rely on

We may use different lawful bases depending on the purpose for which personal data is being processed. These may include:

  • contract, where processing is necessary to provide or arrange services requested by you
  • legal obligation, where processing is required by law or regulation
  • legitimate interests, where processing is necessary for our business, compliance, service review, complaint handling or administration and your rights do not override those interests. For ordinary website enquiries, we rely on legitimate interests, where our legitimate interest is in responding to enquiries you have chosen to submit to us
  • consent, where we ask for your permission to use personal data for a specific purpose
  • explicit consent, where required for special category data such as health information
  • regulatory and compliance obligations connected with Wealth Central's status as an Appointed Representative and Wealthwise's role as Principal firm

9. Website enquiries and forms

If you complete a form on our website, we will use the information you provide to respond to your enquiry and manage the relevant relationship or request. This may include client enquiries, careers or opportunity enquiries, introducer relationship enquiries and succession, sale or acquisition conversations.

We use information submitted through an ordinary website enquiry to respond to that enquiry. We do not use website enquiry information for marketing purposes.

Where no financial advice relationship follows from a website enquiry, we would typically retain that information for 12 months from the date of last contact.

Please do not send sensitive financial documents through general website forms. If documents are required, we will explain the appropriate route.

10

10. Opportunities, careers and professional relationship enquiries

Where you contact us about careers, current opportunities, introducer relationships, succession, sale or acquisition conversations, we will use the information you provide to consider and respond to your enquiry. This may include your identity, contact details, professional background, experience, interests and any information you choose to provide about yourself.

We do not intend to request CV uploads as the default route at launch. Candidates may instead be asked to introduce themselves in writing and explain why they would like to be considered by Wealth Central.

11

11. Who we may share personal data with

Where necessary and lawful, we may share personal data with:

  • Wealthwise Corporate Financial Management Ltd in its role as Principal firm, where required for regulated advice, oversight, file review, compliance or complaint handling

Sharing personal data with third parties does not give them permission to send marketing communications unless you have agreed to this or they have their own lawful basis to do so.

12

12. International transfers

We do not currently expect the routine provision of our services to require personal data to be transferred outside the United Kingdom. If this changes, we will take appropriate steps to protect your personal data in accordance with data protection law.

13

13. How we protect personal data

We take reasonable steps to keep personal data secure and to protect it against unauthorised or unlawful access, loss, misuse, alteration or disclosure. Personal data will be stored securely in electronic and, where relevant, paper-based records used to provide and administer our services.

You should also take reasonable steps to protect your own privacy when sending information to us. This includes avoiding unprotected email for confidential information, using password protection or encryption for sensitive attachments where appropriate and using secure postage when sending original documents.

14

14. How long we keep personal data

Where you submit an enquiry through our website and no financial advice relationship follows, we would typically retain that information for 12 months from the date of last contact.

For financial advice and client relationships, we may retain personal data for at least six years following the advice or service provided. We may retain information for longer where required to meet legal, regulatory, complaint handling, insurance or legitimate business obligations.

The exact retention period may depend on the type of service, the nature of the records and the regulatory or legal requirements that apply.

15

15. Marketing communications

We may send you information about Wealth Central's services and other relevant communications where we are permitted to do so and, where required, where you have given your consent.

Marketing communications may be sent by email, telephone, SMS, WhatsApp or post, depending on the contact preferences you have provided to us.

You can ask us to stop sending marketing communications at any time or change your communication preferences by contacting us.

We will not sell your personal data to third parties for marketing purposes.

Strictly necessary cookies or similar technologies may be used where required for website operation, security or requested functionality. We may also use security or form-verification technology to protect website forms from automated or abusive submissions.
